7. DIY pizza party: almost everything about my parents’ visit was do-it-yourself, even the pizza we ate on Friday night. We each got a blob of dough and “decorated” it however we wanted. I went for pears, rosemary, mascarpone and balsamic. Tasty!

8. Snack stack: I’ve never met a snack I didn’t like, but I might go so far as to say I LOVE this little morsel. It started as a little triple crème brie/Nut Thins combo, and by the end, we had drug several more complementary snack items out of the pantry spice it up even further. The more, the merrier, right? The final delicious combination included a Nut Thin + a layer of brie + a drop of agave + a thin slice of fig + one marcona almond. Mike knows I’m notorious for taking a simple snack like cheese and crackers and making it ridiculously complicated in pursuit of a slightly higher enjoyment index, but in the case of these little snack stacks, I think it really was worth it. Of course, that’s what I always say.

9. Double the cowlness: inspired by the cotton cowl scarf I started last week, my mom decided to make one herself. (Apparently slippers and the Anthro-Inspired Scarflet weren’t enough.) She’s using a beautiful grey Cotton Ease as the base and a variegated sock yarn and some yellow crochet thread as the accents. I seriously dig the color palette. I think I might just have to make another one!

One Response to What We Made and Did: Part III

  1. Jamie says:

Some readers may feel that ‘snacks’ don’t count as crafts. That snack, well, that is an art form. Sounds like it may need its own tutorial post.
