If you read Make and Do Girl regularly, you know I have a dear friend named McCall who’s creative to the nth degree. Not only is she talented eye behind Lucky Malone Photography (check out my post about her 365 day self portrait project here), she also comes up with fantastic ways to reuse things, like this time when she turned an old sweater into a rockin’ pair of mittens.
Today she’s dreamed up the perfect way to get us through these waning chilly days in style by using a few everyday objects. Take it away, McCall!
Adding a pin to your scarf is an easy way to turn any scarf into an infinity scarf and it gives you an extra opportunity to be creative. The inspiration for this little scarf pin “hack” came from searching for real scarf pins that looked good and would fit chunkier scarves. (Most seem to be made for lace weight knits.) I decided that maybe I could get the pieces (a circle and a stick) independently and just construct my own scarf pin.
I found a bangle bracelet worked well for the circle piece for chunkier knits and as far as the stick part goes, you could use just about anything: a double pointed knitting needle, a spoon, a twig. etc.
Use your imagination and create some new scarf bling to secure your next neck snugggle. Let us know what kind of scarf pin inspiration you come up with!
