It’s been a pretty big year for us. Really big. Probably the biggest yet. I keep saying that, but each of the past few years have brought more extreme blessings and wilder challenges.
This year, it seems we’re getting our PhD in change.
Most of it–crazy as it sounds in hindsight–was planned.
For one, we’re having a baby. In about a month. Wow.
We tend to crowd our life-changing events with cross-country moves (3,400 mile move + wedding = crazytown) and this year has been no different. At 20 weeks prego (half way to the day), our family of 2.5 packed up and headed west to Colorado. We’re now back near lots of our awesome family, the mountains we’ve so dearly missed and sunsets like this.
I can’t say that everything about this little change cocktail we’ve been drinking has been easy.
About once every 26 hours I ask myself what the hell we were thinking.
And about once every 25 hours I ask myself how the hell we got so lucky.
I think as long as the later continues to outpace the former, we’re going to be A-OK.

Congrats!!!! Just popped into your blog and have spent the last hour reading it. I’m now hooked to see how that beehive quilt turns out. I would never have enough sticking power to make it through it. After my kiddos got all the puffs out to play with them for the hundredth time, they’d just be puffs for the rest of their lives!
Hey Lily, Puffs are pretty fun to play with, I agree! My mom and I are just about to sew them all together–hopefully that doesn’t take quite as long as knitting them did!
So happy to have you, Mike and the 9/10th back
xoxo
Glad you are back on the web scene. We have missed you!
So happy to see you have a new blog post! As the one member of your above mentioned awesome family not present in CO, I feel closer to you after reading it. XOXO
I’ll try to send you love through the interwebs a little more often, Michie. xoxo
